State boards typically accept a CEU activity that meets the following
criteria: SAVE International is a recognized technical society. SAVE International Inter-society Agreement Organizations include: Correspondence, distance learning and internet courses are accepted by all the states that require engineering continuing education activities provided that the course meets the above guidelines and provided that completion of the course can be independently verified. The state boards consider completion of the course to be independently verified if you must take and pass a quiz to successfully complete the course, the quiz is graded and the results are kept on file by the course provider for a prescribed length of time (the number of years varies for each state). In all U.S. states and Canadian provinces (as well as Australia) that mandate
Continuing Professional Competency Activities to maintain licensure, it is the
individual engineer's responsibility to ensure that activities meet the board's
